Anyway, I played around with my camera yesterday and here's my first shot. It's not terribly exciting because it's jewelry, but this is one main reason I got the camera. Look at the nice blur I got. That's not even photoshopped. I have no idea how to use the camera yet really, but it's quite wonderful. For me, I don't really see a need to get a more expensive camera. The printer is gigantic and wide-format. That's important to me as a graphic designer. I'm excited to print out some graphics and patterns for mood boards.

I'd also like to give a special shout out to FedEx. I can't thank you enough for LEAVING A $500 PRINTER IN THE DOORWAY OF OUR APARTMENT BUILDING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT. You're so special. It was the weekend of Halloween so luckily a zombie told us.
A good digital camera makes such a difference. That being said, I've had mine more than two years and I still get confused when I try to do anything "fancy." lol. Your first photo looks great!
ReplyDeleteHehe thanks! I'm having trouble with auto, lol! I'm having better luck using it manual. If I could only figure out how to set the white balance, there is where my current trouble lies.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Michelle....great photo! Can't wait to see what you'll shoot with that beauty!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kinga! Me either, and just in time for one less hour of daylight in the afternoons!
ReplyDeleteoh, you're going to have so much fun with that camera! and glad the zombies didn't steal the printer! give us an update after you do some prints... i'm looking for a printer and that's one of the ones on my possible list.
ReplyDeleteSure, I'll give an update. I'm going to print out some things this week and let you know how it goes!
ReplyDeleteI've had my Rebel for about four...?...years now, and I still love her. She's like an extension of my right hand! Great photo and I love the necklace!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear! I might have questions for you then! Like, for example, I can't figure out how to get to the white balance...We'll see if I can figure it out! I'm determined!
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle,
ReplyDeleteA fellow BYW'er finally popping over. I'm so happy that you did this for yourself. I'm also in the market for a new camera (that darn BYW course ;), so hope you keep us posted on how things go. So far, so good I would say.
All the best,
Theresa
PS~Your jewelry is quite beautiful.
Thanks so much Theresa! I know, when Leslie said point and shoots weren't going to get the same kind of photos, well...I'll be coming by your blog soon!
