Valentine's gifts for him-DIY Friday

I'm still not 100% sure of what I'm doing for my husband David for Valentine's Day. I have one idea that I will share with you next week. And it's hilarious. Or maybe a little head-scratching. You be the judge. Still, I need something to go with it. Something a little more special and less funny. Here's some ideas for this week:
Baking him something (Or buying him these from Janjoupatisserie and pretending I baked them-gorgeous!). Check out Kinga's beautiful macarons and ask her for the recipe. Also, check out some cute heart shaped red velvet whoopie pies.
Or a creative Valentine's crayon card that appeals to his kid at heart.
And I LOVE this Valentine's fort from design sponge. This is amazing! I'm not sure I have the energy for it this year, but next year I'd really love to do this. I'd go a little simpler and inexpensive. But, I love the idea of this and having a little picnic inside. I think it calls for hummus, falafel and some spiced hot tea (spiked of course).
This idea is great for David's desk at work. If it wouldn't embarrass him. I'm not sure. But, I love it. It's also from designsponge. They have amazing idea that put all mine to shame.

Want some ideas that you don't have to make? Check out these lists:

  1. I have seen those heart crayons everywhere online this year. They are so sweet!

My husband and I don't have set Valentine's plans or gifts yet either.

    1. forgot to ask-- what camera do you use? Your other pictures are so clear and pretty. Do you use a program to edit your photos?

    2. I know! But, will he like them as much as I do or would I be baking them just for me? :-)

Thanks! I use a Canon EOS Rebel. I do a little tweaking in photoshop. Usually just some brightening. But, I'm just learning to use the camera so your comment totally makes my day!

  3. That fort is totally awesome! It definitely calls for finger food. Somewhere I pinned a recipe for goat cheese wrapped grapes. YUM. Sounds like your Valentines Day is wrapping up nicely! My husband always accidentally calls Valentine's "Thanksgiving," which to my mind is totally appropriate!

  4. Love these ideas! The last one is so cute, but my husband would never go for that being on his desk at work. Boys are no fun. :)

  5. What great ideas for Valentine's, especially the fort! I could see the fort being a great way for the whole family to celebrate Valentine's, not just mom and dad ;). The kids would get a kick out of it. Thanks for always finding and sharing the best ideas.

  8. Theresa-That would be a really cute idea for a family too! I always loved making fabric forts when I was a kid. Setting it up was always fun too.

Thanks Heather and Sparkle. I'm on the fence about baking since we're trying to be healthy. It's a dilemma! He'll give me a sideways look first and then commence to eat.
