A sneak peek at my Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project is due January 31st. I'm not even halfway done. This is what I do. This is who I am. I'm a procrastinator. I save things for the last minute and then stress and get cranky. Pray for David.

Here's the doodles I've done so far. My theme is monochromatic. I wanted to draw mostly everything in macro and I wanted to play with pattern. Then, I will go back and add some color. One color for every spread. Aaaaaand I still have to design something great for the cover. But, I am determined to finish! I will do this. (And my tree will be teal!)

How's your Sketchbook Project going? Are you going to finish? At the last minute, like me?

  1. Oh, gorgeous! How's my sketchbook project going? HA! I can't sketch my way out of a paper bag much less a sketchbook. I have such envy for skill and talent like yours. The branches, just stunning.

  2. These drawings are beautiful. Line drawings are my favorite!

I haven't sketched in FOREVER, but I know I need to try to find some time to do some drawing or painting this week. It always makes me feel happy! : )

  4. Haha Lauren! I bet you're better than you say. :-)

Stephanie-Thanks! I hadn't sketched in forever either! It was so hard picking it up again. I was quite frustrated at times. But, I think it was a good idea for me to pick up sketching again, it's definitely a talent I want back again!

Thanks Kinga! I can't wait to see yours! I have more pics when I get a little further.

  8. I love your sketches! Like you, I'm such a procrastinator. It's really awful. I'm trying to improve.
I have heard of the Sketch Project. Sounds like fun (if I don't procrastinate). Maybe next go around I will give it a whirl.
Please share some more when you get a chance. Don't fret, you WILL finish. Keep having fun with it.

inspiration-I'll definitely share some more. I did two pages yesterday! Woot! If you sign up early you definitely have lots of time to do it. I signed up two months early I think. So, I had plenty of time!

  11. Procrastination huh ... I know what u mean, but my issue is with catching the train/subway over here or leaving home/office on time so I don't hyperventilate rushing out. Just today "i did it AGAIN' ... thinking I have several minutes to go .. but in a flash those minutes disappeared and I had to do a mad dash speeeeed walk (I am sure I looked so weird trying not to run, but walking quickly hahaha). IF I miss my train there is about a 30 - 45 minute wait which means that I am late for meetings. This far, I have never been more than 5 minutes late for a meeting, but still ... why give myself the stress. Ok, I feel like this was therapy hahahaha. Solution: I will plan ahead better :) Looking fwd to seeing ur sketchbook!!
