Washington D.C. trip part 1-Restaurants

Over Thanksgiving, we went to Washington, D.C. This is David's hometown. I love this city. Maybe because it's new to me, but there's so much to see here and it has great architecture. We do all the touristy things when we go. No black Friday shopping, please. The museums are still packed. We went to the building museum, the new Martin Luther King Jr. memorial and even ate at a restaurant in Arlington where Obama ate. Hehe. David had them show us his table. They knew, they probably get asked that a lot. It's called Liberty Tavern. I was wondering why Obama chose to eat here, it doesn't really look like much from the outside. But, the food was great. I got a pasta dish with quail that almost made me a vegetarian. It tasted good, but apparently quail are very tiny and look like baby birds. It was a little disturbing, I was expecting something more chicken-like.

But, one of our favorite places to go in D.C. to eat is a tapas restaurant called Jaleo. We are a little bit obsessed with tapas. Though, it's been a several year love affair so I think it has grown from an obsession to something more eternal. This is really one of the best tapas restaurants we have been to...and we know tapas. Make sure to get the white sangria (it's sparking with strawberries!) and the apple and fennel salad. As a bonus, there's also a cupcake place nearby. Just sayin'.
