Blogging Your Way meet up in Chicago

Last week ended a blogging course I was taking called Blogging Your Way. It is taught by Holly of Decor8 and Leslie Shewring of A Creative Mint. I really didn't talk much about it, but it was an incredibly helpful and inspiring course. It made me want to do great things with my blog and work harder. But, one of the things they encouraged us to do was to meet up in person with your fellow classmates. Which is exactly what some of us did in Chicago! I've only had my blog for a couple of months now. It's still a work in progress trying to figure out my vision and getting to know myself a little better. So, I would say I was probably feeling rather inferior meeting up with some classmates that have been blogging for much longer. It was a small group, only three of us, but it was so rewarding. I learned so much from them.

Our day started at 10 am with a trip to the Bucktown Beanery. Then we hit several stores for some inspiration and photography, including a fabric store, flower shop, ribbon store and a furniture boutique. I was able to get in some good one on one time with my new camera. We spent most of the day in the shops so we were much too tired to do mood boards later. We were done with our day at 7pm! The time really flew by and I feel I gained so much from meeting other creative bloggers. I couldn't have met more lovely, talented and sweet ladies. I was so impressed with their many talents! If you ever get a chance to meet up with some blogging buddies, definitely do it. BYW friends, it's not too late! We had our meeting after class was over and it was so worth it. I'll be sharing some of the photos I took later this week and next week.

Liz, an amazing photographer from the blog EV Photo Chic and her newest venture Coach House Pictures put the whole thing together. Her new website is fantastic and her photos are truly beautiful. She let us hang out at her amazing coach house that was featured on Apartment Therapy. She created a facebook page for us, figured out the places we would go and what we would do (mood board party!), so I know she put in a lot of work for us.

Juliette, an extremely talented artist from the blog Juliette Crane also has a lovely Etsy shop. She travelled all the way from Madison, WI! She has gorgeous paintings, prints and even lockets featuring her artwork. She is so inspiring and works hard as an independent artist and her own boss (which is something I'd love to do someday!). She has a wealth of knowledge and experiences.

Thanks Mary! They were letters I bought for my mood board, lol! I figured I should go ahead and use it for this post.
